Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters Thursday and the outlook for the film looks to be very positive. The film stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, and Andy Serkis. The movie is a direct sequel to Return of the Jedi which was released in 1983. The film starts off 30 years after the events in that film. Disney has asked that no plot points be given out. So that nugget is about all your going to get in terms of plot.
This movie was brilliant and the cinematography was breathtaking. JJ Abrams did a wonderful job and I can say with confidence that Star Wars is back!!!
The only thing bad about The Force Awakens if you can even call this bad, is that the flow can seem slow if you are not a veteran of watching the films.
The big question for Lucas Film and Disney is... will younger audiences embrace a film franchise whose brightest days took place 30 years ago? The younger generation may have no clue who Luke Skywalker or Han Solo is. With all that being said the outlook for this picture according to Disney and other sites is very postive with projections hovering around 200 million for opening weekend. Star Wars is seemingly every where from mugs to place mats and it will be as a film a year is in planned for the foreseable future.
