Long-time local favorite Eugene singer/songwriter/recording artist Shelley James is joining the family at KOOL 99.1.

She and her husband Callan are the featured Duo at the popular Café 440’s twice monthly “Heart & Soul Music Nights” music 6-8 pm,  from which a portion of the proceeds are donated to local charities.  This is their 10th year performing at Cafe 440.  It is located on Coburg Road in Eugene.

Shelley has more than 24 years of experience in live performance & studio recording, community networking, event & concert promotion, and voice over commercial/jingle work for various local businesses.

Canadian born, Shelley grew up singing in a gospel quartet with her parents and brother and later moved to Eugene when she married Eugene born bass player Callan Coleman.

Shelley has led music in churches all over the west coast and Canada, and has opened for Little River Band and Eddie Money, and she has performed with notables such as Sheila E. and her family, the Pete Escovedo Latin Jazz Orchestra.

Shelley and Callan are very active in the Eugene/Springfield communities, have been married for 23 years, and they have an 8 year-old daughter who loves music!  No surprise there.

“KOOL’s programming is a natural fit for me and I am thrilled to spin the greatest hit songs from the soundtrack of our lives. Being a career musician myself, I’m always interested in finding out the back story of songs and the artists behind them.  I look forward to sharing what I’ve learned about the music makers with the listeners.” -Shelley
